Lady Crook #893 has a new leader! Millie has agreed to accept the position of Chapter President. We are so happy that Lady Crook #893 has the inspired leadership of this great lady. Millie is an experienced leader (she has held the office of State President among other offices) and we anxiously await the future development of her chapter.
I, President Laurel Zielinski, recently had the privilege of attending the December meeting of Lady Crook #893, a Christmas Brunch at the home of President Millie Miller. The beautifully decorated home of Questers Friz (Corp of Discovery #1504 and State Corresponding Secretary) and Millie (Past NE State President) is in the historic Dundee Section of Omaha. Each room of this historic house decorated with vintage decorations quickly put visitors into the Holiday Spirit mode. Attendees included the members of Lady Crook and several guests from the community. The members had prepared such a delicious luncheon which was enjoyed by all. An informative program on the history of Christmas carols was given by Kay Bashus. After the program, Millie Miller gave each attendee a “beginner” hand bell to use. Instructions were given, and then everyone seated at the table was amazed that we actually were playing Christmas Carols on the hand bells! It was such a fun activity and gave all a new appreciation for folks who exercise this talent in bell Choirs. It was wonderful to meet both members and guests and to see how faithful the members of Lady Crook are to Questers. Thanks go out for the precious gift given to me of notecards done by the late, great, Nebraska artist and Quester member, Judith Welk. These notecards were done for Questers in 2011 when Nebraska hosted the International Convention. I applaud Lady Crook as they try to build up their chapter once more by sharing Questers everywhere to keep our history alive!
